How cute are these "First Trip Around the Sun" themed cookies? ☀🚀
Following my customer's request, I designed them featuring space-themed cookies and an edible image of the birthday boy himself! Almost too cute to eat…
If you're looking for an easy last minute cookie recipe to try this holiday, make it Peanut Butter Blossoms!
The beauty of this recipe is that everything is mixed in one bowl all at the same time, no complicated steps!
🍪 Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup peanut butter (creamy is best)
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar (light or dark )
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
2 Tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 3/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
You'll also need some unwrapped candy kisses (unwrap them while your cookies are in the oven so they're ready to go).
🍪 Directions:
– Mix all the ingredients together until your dough starts coming together (meaning no loose crumbs).
– Next take out a little piece of dough and roll it in the palm of your hand to form a circle (keep it small because it will grow in the oven). Repeat until you use up all the dough.
– Roll the dough balls in granulated sugar to coat them.
– Evenly space them on your baking sheet (you can place them right on the tray itself- no parchment if you don't want to).
– Put them in the oven 1 tray at a time at 375 for 8 to 10 minutes. I like them not browned so keep an eye on them and pull them out when they are looking nice and fluffy.
– As soon as they come out of the oven, place a candy kiss right in the center. Make sure you give it a little push into the dough so it doesn't fall out when it cools!
– Let them cool a bit and then put them either on parchment paper or a plate to cool the rest of the way and prevent them from sticking to your baking sheet.
And there you have it- dessert in less than 30 minutes!
Early this summer a couple reached out to me to create cookie versions of their two beloved dogs as a way to include them in their wedding.
The process started as photos turned into digital mockups, a few rounds of revisions, and then finally a cookie prototype of each dog to make sure the details were just right!
And I finally had the pleasure of delivering their wedding order this past weekend, so I can now share them with you! 💍💕
You know I'll never pick a favorite cookie order, but if I had to pick one, it would look a lot like this…
This mom was planning a "Wild One" themed first birthday, but since it was in late fall wanted to lean into a fall/winter color palette, and the result was stunning!
